Road trip around Lake Scugog

This past Saturday afternoon, I was feeling a bit out of sorts. I could have worked it out of my system by vacuuming the house (woo bloody hoo), but instead chose to take one of my little road trips out into the countryside and take some pictures along the way. The first place I stopped was the town of Caesarea, on the SE shore of Lake Scugog. I spied the water and drove down to a small pier for a closer look.

In case you can't read the sign, it says "Chip Truck Open". Gas for the boats and the boaters alike!

A more traditional Saturday afternoon pursuit. These days, one would be more likely seeing kids that age in front of their televisions, casting out for some virtual fish with their Wiimotes in hand.

My attempt at being all artsy with some pier hardware.

A view of Lake Scugog.

A tree near the pier, on the waters edge.

What was at one time the previous trees neighbour.

After leaving Caesarea, I drove down the country road a ways and spied an eagles nest atop a pole. Lo and behold, the residents were home.

This handsome fellow kept showing off for me. I captured 30 seconds of video of him taking off and flying about, but still have to convert that to a more web friendly format.

A few side roads later, I crossed an old narrow bridge, where a tributary joins up with the Scugog River. Looking east at the marshlands that surround the tributary.

Another view looking east. This turned out quite interesting.

The shore of the river, along the west side.

One view of the old bridge.

Now you know how old the bridge is.

Along the shore of the east side.
